Merry X-Mas and Stuff...

Hey everyone, long time no post. It's been a busy December and hopefully there will be a few things to show for it in the new year.

X-Mas was nice and relaxing and I spent it at the movie theatre pretty much all day. After waking up at 1pm and playing a few games of Madden '09 on the ol' PS3, I went to the movies with Sherrie.

We saw The Spirit, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Slumdog Millionaire, in that order.

The Spirit wasn't that great and you get over that "Oh, isn't it cool, it looks like a graphic novel come to life!" thing real quick. Besides, Sin City did it better because it actually had an entertaining story, but I'm blaming this one squarely on Frank Miller's directing. He's not ready to direct by himself and should stick with Robert Rodriguez. Although Eva Mendes (a fellow CSUN alum) and Scarlett Johansson looked hot as usual.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was better, but it wasn't hard to beat The Spirit. Brad Pitt was awesome in this film, but nothing really happened. Hollywood is describing it as the most expensive art house film made and I can see why. It's directed by Fight Club's David Fincher, but this is obviously no Fight Club. Worth a DVD/Blu-Ray rental.

Slumdog Millionaire was easily the best film of this trio. The Danny Boyle directed film has no stars (although a very attractive Indian girl, Freida Pinto makes her feature film debut) but an awesome story based on the novel "Q & A" by Vikas Swarup. This film is my kind of film and is a strong contender for Best Film (I haven't seen "Doubt" yet, so I won't crown it just yet). If you're in the mood for a great film, check out Slumdog Millionaire, if you can find it.

On Saturday I received a call from my mother asking me what I was doing. I said I was relaxing and had no plans to do anything else. Apparently the annual "Family X-Mas" get together in San Diego was going on. She calls me when she's at the function and it's too late to drive down. Then the line I find hilarious for some reason is uttered, "You didn't get the E-Vite?" Yes, I got it and decided to ignore it...no, I didn't get the E-Vite. Well, what's done is done and we still haven't figured out who the E-Vite went out to because it didn't come to any of my email addresses.

Hope you all had a Merry X-Mas (did you track Santa?) and I'll see if I can post before the New Year!

    Kid, :(

I really missed you at the party. Since I didn't organize it when I didn't see you there I started asking and found out that the e-vite was sent to idiaz1984@yahoo (Israel's). Of course, everyone missed you there. Not the same without the slide show and your sense of humor. :(
