So my boy Danny Jordan (who does hosting, radio, etc. think of him as a Ryan Seacrest type) calls me up a couple of days ago and asks if I'd be willing to be his camera man for a red carpet event. Said event was for an album release party for some artist named Zarah (see pic left). Why she is holding a microphone in the middle of Hollywood while wearing a Hooters uniform, I have no idea. Anywho, the "event" is at a pretty well known recording/rehearsal studio in Hollywood, S.I.R. Studios. At the end of the night we had to go to the front desk and get our location release signed and they had order tickets out for the next day and I saw that Lupe Fiasco and PCD were going to be there, pretty cool. So back to the red carpet "event", it was full of a lot of people I'd never heard of and it was funny watching Danny (who had no idea who these people were either) pretend to be interested. I think the camera shook a little from me laughing at one point. There were some cute girls there like this girl band called Sweet 88 (see pic) , I haven't heard their music, but I figure it doesn't matter. It also amazed me how insane these red carpet events are and this wasn't even one of the big ones. There's people running around, photographers trying to get their shot, it's nuts. Needless to say I am glad I don't do this for a living. It was a cool experience and I made some extra cash along the way, so it was all good. The coolest guy we interviewed was Adam Gaynor, former member of Matchbox 20. He had a lot of fun in our interview and gave us all shout outs. This piece should air in a couple of months as part of the show VJ IAM. Check your local listings and check it out if you have a chance!
