So last night I'm walking to the bus stop (after being dropped off by the Culver City Bus) where I catch the Commuter Express in Century City at about 6:45pm and see that a crowd has formed across the street in front of a parking structure. There's an ambulance, firetruck and a police squad car parked in front of the structure. I see a cop run back to his car and pull out his yellow tape and I knew it was pretty serious. All of us at the stop were gathered, trying to get a better look at what was going on across the street. I looked up on the second floor of the parking structure and saw paramedics placing a body on a gurney. Just then our bus arrived, we boarded and we made our way back to the Valley. I put on my iPod and drifted in and out of a nap and didn't give a second thought to the incident back in Century City.
Cut to this morning and I'm on the Culver City bus coming to work and hear a newsbreak on Hot 92.3 and a report of a woman that had been stabbed and was pronounced dead later that night in Century City! This just really got me thinking that we don't know the day or hour that our time here on Earth is up. Life is too short people...tell someone you know you love them. And don't worry, if you don't send this to 12 people nothing bad is going to happen. Also, actually call or visit someone and tell them you love them...text is wack and very impersonal. Are we really that busy that we can't dial someone's number (less keystrokes than a text) and talk to them?
